Repair procedures

Align the front wheels facing straight ahead by turning steering wheel.
If the steering wheel and the front tires does not synchronize
to their centers together, open circuit on the clock spring cable
may occur due to excessive steering wheel turning.

Disconnect the battery (-) terminal.
|
3. |
Remove the driver airbag module.
(Refer to Restraint - "Driver Airbag (DAB) Module and Clock Spring")
|
4. |
Disconnect the steering wheel connector (A).
|
5. |
Remove the steering wheel (A) after loosening the lock bolt.
Tightening torque:
39.2 - 49.0 N·m (4.0 - 5.0 kgf·m, 28.9 - 36.2 lb-ft)

Do not use the hammer for disconnecting on the steering
column not to damage the steering column.

Loosen the paddle shift switch mounting screw.
|
2. |
Remove paddle shift connector and remove paddle shift (A).
|
3. |
Remove the steering wheel ornament

Loosen the ornament mounting screws.
|
(2) |
Separate the steering wheel ornament (A) from the wheel body.
|
(3) |
Disconnect the steering wheel remote controller connectors (A).
|

4. |
Disconnect the heated steering wheel connector (A) and then remove the
steering wheel lower cover.

If tightening with excessive torque to assemble heated steering
wheel, the parts may damage.
|
• |
If the main wiring does not place on the correct position during
installation of the steering back cover, the open or short circuit
may occur.

Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
